Hello there! I'm Kristin Cole, founder of kCole Bookkeeping & Small Business Consulting. With a passion for helping entrepreneurs turn their dreams into financially successful realities, I've been navigating the world of bookkeeping and business logistics for more than 25 years—and doing it full-time here at kCole since February 2021.
With experience spanning multiple industries, a foundation in accounting and business administration, and certification as a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor by Intuit, I bring both practical insight and professional expertise to my work.
But my passion for small business comes from more than my professional background. It comes from becoming an entrepreneur myself.
The truth is, I just didn't like working for giant, faceless corporations. I'm far more motivated by helping hard-working individuals make their own dreams a reality.
For years, friends told me I should start my own business, but I lacked the courage and confidence to take the leap. (Steady paychecks and benefits are scary to lose!) Here on the other side of that decision, I can honestly say that starting my own business has been one of the best things I've ever done for myself.
Helping other people do the same feels soul-satisfying to me.
Removing the barriers we can so that other people can intentionally build workdays, lives, and bank balances they love? That feels like serving something greater than ourselves.
That's the idea kCole has grown around.
We know running a small business means wearing an incredible number of hats—and not all of them are the reason you became an entrepreneur. There are books to keep, systems to figure out, administrative details to manage, financial information to understand, and a seemingly endless stream of things you're somehow expected to know how to do.
You don't have to do all of it alone.
Whether you're just getting started, looking to outsource some of the work that doesn't light you up, trying to make sense of your books, or simply need another set of capable hands to help get things organized, our team offers support tailored to what you and your business actually need.
Sometimes that means taking work completely off your plate. Sometimes it means working alongside you, teaching you how something works, or helping you find a better way to do it. Either way, our goal is the same: to get what we can out of your way so you can focus on what you do best—creating great products, providing excellent service, and building the business you set out to build.
Over time, kCole has grown beyond just me into a small team that shares that commitment to thoughtful, dependable, down-to-earth support. We take the time to understand the businesses we work with, because we believe the best support comes from understanding not just the numbers, but the people and goals behind them.
Your business is waiting. You can do this. We can help.
Our bookkeeping team works collaboratively to give clients dependable support while maintaining the personal relationships kCole is known for.
Founder | Bookkeeping Specialist & Small Business Consultant
Kristin is the founder of kCole Bookkeeping & Small Business Consulting and brings more than 25 years of experience in bookkeeping, business operations, and administrative support to the team. With a background in accounting and business administration and certification as a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, she has a knack for seeing both the financial details and the bigger picture of how a business operates.
Her favorite part of the work is getting to know the people behind small businesses—understanding what they're building, figuring out what's getting in their way, and finding practical ways to make running the business a little easier. Whether she's untangling a complicated bookkeeping problem, helping an entrepreneur understand their numbers, improving a process, or tackling one of those “I don't even know where to start with this” projects, Kristin approaches the work with curiosity, patience, and a healthy appreciation for a good puzzle.
Outside of kCole, Kristin is a photographer and lifelong creative who loves exploring new places, supporting independent businesses, spending time with animals, and probably has more ideas and projects in progress than any one person reasonably needs.

After nearly 20 years as a dental hygienist, Lana was ready for a new chapter—one that would allow her to lean into her love of numbers, organization, and helping others in a different way. That transition led her to bookkeeping and finance, where she discovered the perfect blend of precision, problem-solving, and purpose.
Lana brings the same care and attention to detail that defined her previous career to every client she supports at kCole. She enjoys bringing order to the financial details behind a business and helping small-business owners feel confident that their books are being handled with care. For Lana, being part of the kCole team means using her strengths to make life a little easier for the entrepreneurs behind the numbers.
Lana lives in Middleton, Wisconsin, with her partner, their daughter, and three pets—so there’s rarely a dull (or quiet) moment at home. When she’s not working, you’ll usually find her listening to music, cooking, spending time with family, or heading to Wisconsin’s Northwoods to relax and recharge.
